He won Best Researcher Award in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, and has authored 6 textbooks in Computer Science and Engineering. His research spans Security Engineering, Pattern Recognition, Biometric Authentication, Multimodal Biometric Systems, Data Mining, and Image Processing.

Gandomi is internationally recognised as one of the world’s most highly cited and influential researchers, known for pioneering contributions to global optimisation, machine learning, big data analytics, and evolutionary computation. His work spans engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, and data-driven modelling, and has shaped multiple research fronts worldwide. He is an ARC DECRA Fellow and Professor of Data Science in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Demonstrating exceptional research momentum, he was promoted to Full Professor only four years after completing his PhD.

He is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Ubon Ratchathani University, Thailand. His main research interest is the development of advanced computational tools and techniques for various applications spanning from engineering to biology and medicine.

His academic credentials include: a PhD in Neuroscience from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans (2011), an MS in Electrical Engineering, Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, Baton Rouge (2006), and a BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Telangana, India. Dr. Vishwanath Madhava Shervegar is a Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communications Engineering at Moodlakatte Institute of Technology Kundapura, since 2023. Dr. Shervegar holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, an M.Tech. in Digital Electronics and Advanced Communication from Manipal Institute of Technology Manipal, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Signal Processing from Visvesvaraya Technological University Balagavi. With 15 years of experience, his areas of interest include biomedical signal processing and medical instrumentation. He is a life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and a senior member of the IEEE.
