Reviewer Expectations

Scientific Merit

Reviewers are asked to evaluate originality, scientific rigor, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal.

Constructive Feedback

The goal of peer review is not merely to judge a manuscript, but to help improve it wherever possible.

Timeliness

Concetta Press aims for rapid editorial decisions. Reviewers are therefore asked, whenever possible, to return reviews within approximately two weeks.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts under review should be treated as confidential documents and should not be shared without permission.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Reviewers should decline assignments when there is any personal, financial, or academic conflict that may impair impartial judgment.

Professional Tone

Reviews should remain courteous and professional at all times, even when substantial criticisms are warranted.

Use of AI by Reviewers

Reviewers may use AI tools for limited assistance such as grammar checking or language clarification. However, the reviewer remains fully responsible for the content, judgment, and confidentiality of the review.

AI tools should not be used in ways that compromise manuscript confidentiality or replace the reviewer’s own scientific evaluation.
